Matt Dwyer is in his first season as assistant men's soccer coach at Loyola College. Dwyer, who brings a wealth of coaching knowledge from his involvement in the youth soccer coaching ranks, joins the Greyhounds with professional playing experience and strong ties to the local club soccer scene.

Dwyer holds several coaching licenses, including an NSCAA Premier Diploma, a USSF "A" license and an English FA coaching badge. He began his club coaching in Louisiana where he coached local club teams to six state championships over seven years. He moved to Baltimore and has since coached in the Baltimore Bays Soccer Club organization. Over the last five years he has held the position of Technical Director with the Bays.

Dwyer has also coached the U-16 Bays team for the last four years and is involved as a youth coach in the United Soccer League and Olympic Development Program. In addition, he also serves as a national team scout for youth players in the Mid-Atlantic Region.

A native of Foulridge, Lancashire in the United Kingdom, Dwyer is a product of Burnley Football Club's youth program, where he made several professional appearances before beginning his coaching career.

He graduated Magna Cum Laude with a Bachelor of Science degree in sports studies with a minor in psychology from Towson University. He currently resides in Canton with his wife, Terri, and their infant daughter, Madelyn.
