BRETT HARVEY returns for his sophomore season after exploding on the Loyola scene during his first year ... a late-summer addition to the program, he earned a starting nod in the season opener and remained there all season, save for a late-year game at Canisius after suffering a head injury the game prior ... showed a steadiness and ability to control the game from the point guard position ... gave the coaching staff a "coach" on the floor ... solid ball-handler who added a three-point shot to his game as he became more comfortable with the college game ... never in doubt was his ability to distribute the basketball ... took advantage of the luxury of having a scorer (Gerald Brown) and a shooter (Marquis Sullivan) on his wings ... spent his summer participating on two "all-star" teams ... helped the Hudson Valley entrant to the silver medal in the Open Division of the 2007 Empire State Games ... two weeks later, he participated on a travel team alongside players from Kentucky, Rutgers and Georgia Tech that toured and played against professional teams in The Netherlands and Belgium ... suffered a leg injury on that trip that slowed his preseason workouts ... has worked hard on his shooting and will see time at both guard spots this season.

2006-07
Became the first freshman to start his initial game in a Greyhounds uniform since Brad Farrell starting the 2004-05 opener at Virginia Tech in Coach Patsos' first game ... remained in the starting lineup thereafter, omitting only the game at Canisius (Feb. 25) after suffering a head injury and sitting out the second half in the game prior at Niagara (Feb. 23) ... inserted back as a starter for the MAAC Championship games the following week ... after a slow start in the scoring column, he responded to his first game at Reitz Arena with 11 points in the win over Delaware (Nov. 29) ... in addition to three steals, he connected on his first three-point attempt in the game and went on to make three straight over two games ... didn't miss a shot from the floor against Mount St. Mary's (Dec. 2), making his only three-point attempt and six free throws for nine points ... made all three of his three-point attempts for nine points at Northwestern (Dec. 27) ... scored 13 points in the win at Siena (Jan. 9) and followed that by making six-of-seven from the field for 14 points with seven assists in the home win over Niagara (Jan. 12) ... earned his first MAAC Rookie of the Week honors for his efforts ... his only basket of the game at Saint Peter's (Jan. 19) was a game-winning driving layup with 55 seconds remaining ... made three three-pointers for nine points to go alongside six assists in the Siena home victory (Jan. 29) ... scored 11 points in each of the regular-season meetings with Fairfield ... ended his home appearances with a career-best 19 points with six assists against Rider (Feb. 14) ... after posting 11 points and five assists in the win at Tennessee State (Feb. 17), he added his second MAAC Rookie of the Week accolades.
