Jackie "Trunce" Truncellito, a native of Exton, Pennsylvania, is returning to the Greyhounds for the first time since graduating in 2005. After graduating from Villa Maria Academy in 2001, she ran four years of varsity cross country for Loyola, winning the conference championship individual title in 2002 and helping her team win the school's first ever MAAC title in 2003. She was also among the first women to compete in Loyola's Indoor and Outdoor Track and Field program added in 2004.
A strong team bond, a strong sense of leadership and a strong faith, all cultivated throughout her collegiate running career, propelled her desire to work as a Jesuit Volunteer in Chuuk, Micronesia for the past two years. In addition to teaching Literature and Psychology, she also coached the Xavier High School Basketball and Track and Field teams.
In 2006, she was given the opportunity to assist in coaching the Chuuk State Track and Field team. The Athletics team successfully competed in the 2006 Micronesian Games held in Saipan, and brought home 20 of Chuuk State's 23 medals.
In 2007 she was asked to coach a Pohnpeian athlete who represented the Federated States of Micronesia in the World Youth Games held in the Czech Republic. She looks forward to bringing some of her "island style" to the Loyola Cross Country and Track and Field Programs.
